Orbit Lite Is Out on iPhone and iPad

Orbit Lite is on the App Store. The same ADM BWF and Eclipsa Audio™ playback as the Mac app, on iPhone and iPad — £14.99 in the app at launch, or sign in with your Orbit Lite licence and use one of your activations.

Orbit Lite is out now on iPhone and iPad. The same app, the same engine and the same sound as the Mac — in your pocket.

A master, wherever you are

Orbit Lite has one job: open a master and hear it properly. Until today that meant a Mac. Now it means whatever is in your bag.

Open an ADM BWF or an Eclipsa Audio™ (IAMF) file from Files, iCloud Drive or a shared link and it plays — binaurally on any headphones, through Apple Spatial Audio with head tracking on AirPods, in stereo, or out to a 7.1.4 rig through a class-compliant USB-C interface. The Compare check lines the stereo master up against the immersive mix, the way it does on the Mac, and IAMF files with video play with the picture in sync.

Every one of those renders comes from the same speaker feeds as the Mac app, so what you hear on the train is what the room will do on Monday.

For clients, and for engineers on the move

This is the version of Orbit Lite we have been asked for most. Two people in particular:

  • The client. Send them the ADM or the IAMF, not an MP4 bounce. They open it in Orbit Lite on their iPad, put their headphones on and hear the actual mix — binaurally, or through Apple Spatial Audio — before they sign it off.
  • The engineer on the go. Check a delivery on the way to the session. A/B it against the stereo master in the car park. Open the Eclipsa Audio™ file you are about to upload and hear it before your listeners do.

No session to open, nothing to export. Load it, hear it.

£14.99 at launch

Orbit Lite is free to download on the App Store, with a 14-day trial inside. After that, Orbit Lite for iOS is a one-time £14.99 in the app at launch. It belongs to your Apple Account, so it covers every iPhone and iPad you own, with no account to create and no licence key to type.

Already own Orbit Lite? You have nothing to buy. Sign in with your Orbit Spatial account and the app uses one of your licence’s activations, the same way the Mac does. One Lite Duo licence covers your Mac and your iPhone or iPad.

What you need

  • iPhone or iPad on iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later.
  • Any headphones for binaural, or AirPods for head tracking.
  • For speakers, a class-compliant audio interface and an iPhone or iPad with USB-C.
  • Turn Low Power Mode off while you listen. It throttles the processing Lite relies on for glitch-free playback.

The guide covers what is different on a touch screen: Orbit Lite on iPhone & iPad.
